FAQ

What exactly does the HS-1V1E do?

It sends 100 Mbps Ethernet over cable that was never meant for data: existing RG59 or SYV75-5 coaxial video cable, telephone line or twisted pair. Sold as a BNC-plus-RJ45 pair, it lets integrators upgrade analog CCTV to IP cameras without pulling a single new cable — the classic retrofit for older buildings.

How far can it reach and on which media?

On good SYV75-5 coax the link reaches up to 2 km, with 1000 m guaranteed — far beyond the 100 m copper limit. Other media work too: telephone line and twisted pair for shorter runs. Topology is flexible — point-to-point or point-to-multipoint, so one central unit can serve several camera drops over a shared coax tree.

How are the units installed?

One unit at the camera or switch side, one at the far end — BNC to the coax, RJ45 to the Ethernet device. The HomePlug AV / IEEE 1901 engine handles modulation automatically with no configuration. Desktop, wall or rack mounting, powered from AC 100–240 V or a DC 5 V socket at under 2.5 W; 1-year warranty.
