Built for WISP and MDU networks: the HS-2G8ER-F receives 15–48 V DC over network cable from a central PoE injector, powers itself and outputs regulated 12 V DC to the subscriber's ONU, camera or phone. Two SFP fiber ports cover 550 m–100 km uplinks. Energy can be switched off per site when idle.

How does Reverse PoE work on the HS-2G8ER-F?

Power flows toward the switch instead of away from it: a central PoE injector sends 15–48 V DC over the network cable, the switch powers itself and outputs regulated 12 V DC to the subscriber's ONU, camera or phone. Both power-pin pairs — 1/2+ 3/6− and 4/5+ 7/8− — are supported, and energy can be cut per site when idle.

Where is this typically deployed?

WISP and MDU networks: the switch sits at the subscriber side where no reliable mains supply exists, while the injector and batteries stay in the operator's powered cabinet. Two SFP fiber ports cover uplinks from 550 m multi-mode to 100 km single-mode, and the eight gigabit RJ45 ports serve the subscriber's CPE over Reverse PoE.

Is there a version without SFP slots?

Yes — the HS-2G8ER-A/B20 uses fixed SC fiber with the single-fiber WDM 20 km pair, one A unit and one B unit per link. Both variants share the same gigabit switching core: 20 Gbps backplane, 4K MAC table, 9216-byte jumbo frames, in a 215 × 107 × 26 mm metal housing with a 1-year warranty.
