Product Overview
The HS-1G1E extends your LAN over fiber with 1 × SC fiber port + 1 × RJ45 — a gigabit solution for point-to-point fiber links between switches, routers and remote equipment. Store-and-forward switching, auto-negotiation and MDI/MDI-X keep installation plug-and-play; the metal housing mounts on walls or in cabinets. Multimode 550 m to single-mode 120 km optics available — send the distance and port count for an exact quote.

Which applications is the HS-1G1E best suited for?
It is our best-selling gigabit converter for extending 10/100/1000BASE-T copper over 1000Base-SX/LX fiber: NVR uplinks, enterprise backbone runs, FTTH hand-off and camera clusters. With a 4 Gbps backplane, wire-speed forwarding and a 2K MAC table it moves full gigabit traffic, and it shares the proven housing of our 100M series.
How do I pick the right distance and fiber type?
Match the version to your fiber plant. Multi-mode dual-fiber covers up to 2 km; single-mode dual-fiber (S20 and longer) covers 20 to 100 km. If only one strand is available, choose single-fiber WDM: model A transmits at 1310 nm and model B at 1550 nm, and one of each is required at the two ends. LFP link-fault passthrough is available as an option.
Can it be rack-mounted, and what about power and indicators?
Yes. The 94 × 71 × 26 mm metal housing is identical to our other standalone converters and fits our 2U 14-slot rack chassis. It is plug and play with no configuration; LEDs show PWR, TP LINK/ACT/1000 and FX LINK/ACT. Power is AC 100–240 V or DC 5 V 2 A at roughly 3 W, backed by a 2-year warranty.
