HS 5TX is an unmanagable fast industrial Ethernet network switch with 5 100M 10/100Base-T(X) auto-adaptive Ethernet RJ45 ports. As a switching hub, it can help with your outdoor network applications by offering reliable and fast data transmission to your Ethernet-enabled devices. If POE function requires, we can also offer POE version for you.

However, a switch is more complicated than a hub. For hubs, they broadcast datas to all the network nodes automatically. As for switches, they will direct data packets to the appropriate nodes or ports. Switches are normally with multi ports and they provide full bandwidth and storage to each node or node group. They can actually act as both bridges and routers. A switch directs, or switches the packets between the input ports and output ports. It can operate in both half-duplex and full-duplex mode. Under half-duplex mode, the port will not be able to receive and transmit at the same time. There will be collision if it trys to do both at the same time. However, full-duplex mode allows the switch to transmit and receive at the same time and it effectively doubles the network bandwidth.

Switches with full-duplex mode will not cause collisions. All HS switches can support full duplex mode.
