The HS 8G1E is a 8 fiber port full gigabit fiber optic switch with 8 1000M fiber ports and 1 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports. As the fiber port is also gigabit, we offer you both SC and SFP connector types. The switch offers two Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T copper ports and eight 1000M SC/SFP slots for fiber optic cables. As a 8 fiber port gigabit switch, it designed with 4.1M super big buffer space, which is same standard for a 24 port gigabit switch. We adopt high end imported chipset to ensure the best data processing ability and it will bring you fast and stable network transmission even under full load conditions.
In previous pages we’ve discussed the advantages for Gigabit Ethernet switch over Fast Ethernet switch and when we should go for a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Except that, if you decide to deploy the Gigabit Ethernet switch in your network, there is also another matter to consider, which is to go for a Gigabit Ethernet switch or Gigabit router.
Generally, home-use Gigabit routers are normally with three or four built in Gigabit Ethernet ports. This HS-8G1E series gigabit fiber optic switch extends network distance with highly performance via fiber optic cable. It provides media conversion between 10/100/1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-SX interfaces. There are SC/SFP/WDM connectors with single-mode or multi-mode media for different distance solution as required. The Ethernet signal allows three types of segments to connect easily, efficiently and inexpensively. As this fiber optic switch fully complies with IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T, IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX, IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T and IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX/SX, the Gigabit media conversion installation is quite quick and easy with its plug and play feature. The 8G1E also supports flow control and back pressure in half-duplex to eliminate packet loss.
The fiber port of the converter operates at 1310 /1550nm with SC connectors. Multi-mode models that support distances up to 2km and single-mode models that support distances up to 100km more are available which it can save more installation..
